Moving update & a couple of sneak peeks | Decatur, AL Photographer

Well, we have finally gotten moved to Decatur & are somewhat settled….I have drastically reduce the amount of boxes in the house, but there are plenty more to be unpacked & I still haven’t found a permanent home for everything, that will come in time. I am currently working on my office & STUDIO….yep, I said STUDIO!!!! One of the main reasons for us purchasing the home we did(besides the fact that it is absolutely gorgeous!!!) is that there is a nice, cute little building in the backyard that is perfect for my studio. So Jennifer Weddington Photography will now be offering studio photography in addition to on-location photography!! I’m already planning my open house, so stayed tuned for that information. I look forward to seeing my present clients as well as lots of new faces.
Now on to the sneak peeks…The move got me a bit behind on blogging so I’m going to share 2 session sneak peeks in this post.
First up is the wedding of Whitney & Chris. The day was gorgeous & the bride was STUNNING!!!!! They wrote their own vows & they were so heartfelt. So many people came to share this wonderful day with Whitney & Chris that they had to bring in extra chairs & people were standing against the wall in the back of the church. This is definitely a loved couple and upon meeting them, it’s obvious why. Congratulations guys & may you have a blessed life together!
And up next is Miss Bristol who turned one the day after our session. Her mom wanted a couple of pictures of Bristol & big brother Ezra as well, & I just had to get a few of Ezra by himself during Bristol’s outfit changes, he is such a handsome guy!!!!

Chris loves music and plays the piano…very well I might add…so naturally we had to incorporate a piano into their engagement session! These 2 were so much fun & so in love!!!!! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding on May 21.

I’m sure you all know Miss Lola by now…she has been making regular appearances on the blog since she was a mere 2 weeks old. I can’t believe we only have ONE more session for her baby plan, these kids grow up WAY too fast!!!!!

In the last 2 weeks the weather has been BEAUTIFUL-sunny & 70+ degrees outside. I was so excited the weather had warmed up & gotten pretty…well, in true Alabama fashion, just as quick as it got nice, it got ugly again. It has been rainy, cloudy, gray & cold(cold for us Alabamaians is 50 degrees or less).
The morning of Jessica & Alex’s session I was quite honestly worried…it wasn’t pretty. I had been monitoring the weather & held out hope that the afternoon would turn out nice…and guess what…it DID!! It was a beautiful afternoon, perfect weather for our engagement session!!!
I pull up to our session location & see my clients with a motorcycle….an engagement session with a motorcycle…ROCK ON!!! It’s the littlest things that excite me:)
And to end our session, we couldn’t leave out Jessica & Alex’s furbaby, Monty! He was the star of the show. Be looking for Jessica & Alex again in September when their wedding day rolls around. I have one word for you…Converse…

I love me some chunky babies!!!! And this handsome guy was as chunky as they come! His Mom is a sweet friend of mine, and we got together to do his 9 month(though he’s already 10 months…) baby plan session. He was such a good little guy, and definitely a charmer.

Miss Riley Jo is one of my baby planners, & we did her 3 month session this past weekend. She was a DREAM!!! She was so happy & content & was full of smiles. I’m already looking forward to her 6 month session!

Baby Planners are the best…I LOVE getting to watch these babies grow & change their first year. One of my Baby Planners is Lola. Lola’s Mom is one of my oldest friends, she & I went to High School together…almost 3 hrs from where we both live now. Funny that we both ended up in the same area. Miss Lola is now 6 months old. She has the most stunning blue eyes & rocks the “pouty face”!! Watch out Mom & Dad, modeling agencies will soon be calling!!!
Snow…in Alabama…WHAT???!!!

I seldom get a chance to share personal photos here, mainly because my personal photos are the last to be edited…and because my kids refuse to look at me when I have a camera! But thankfully they were too excited to care yesterday. What were they excited about you ask???
SNOW, lots & lots of snow!! Now for those of you that are reading this from outside of Alabama, let me explain…we get snow usually once a year and it’s a dusting & is gone by the end of the day. This year has been an exception, we actually had a white Christmas this year! And low & behold, we had MORE snow yesterday, and it was more snow than I ever remember seeing! We had at least 9 inches, maybe 10. My kids LOVED it!!! We all had a blast playing in the snow, and were actually able to build a snowman!!
Here are some pictures from yesterday, I apologize in advance for the longevity of this post, but this may be the only personal photo post of 2011…Maybe I should make that one of my resolutions, to share more personal photos…hm…
This first picture was taken with my cell phone, this is the bread aisle at Walmart the day the snow was expected to come in. This is how us Alabamians deal with snow!!

2010 was a fantastic year…I had many new clients, and many returning clients. There were a few firsts for Jennifer Weddington Photography in 2010 including a wedding and a birth. I loved them both and look forward to many more weddings & births in 2011, as well as my regular portraiture sessions. I am so happy to have had made so many friendships this year. Each & every one of my clients is special to me, and I’m happy to call you all friends!
I simply can not post all of my favorite images from 2010 in one blog post, so here is just a sampling of some of my favorite client images from 2010.
