Snow…in Alabama…WHAT???!!!
Posted on January 11, 2011
I seldom get a chance to share personal photos here, mainly because my personal photos are the last to be edited…and because my kids refuse to look at me when I have a camera! But thankfully they were too excited to care yesterday. What were they excited about you ask???
SNOW, lots & lots of snow!! Now for those of you that are reading this from outside of Alabama, let me explain…we get snow usually once a year and it’s a dusting & is gone by the end of the day. This year has been an exception, we actually had a white Christmas this year! And low & behold, we had MORE snow yesterday, and it was more snow than I ever remember seeing! We had at least 9 inches, maybe 10. My kids LOVED it!!! We all had a blast playing in the snow, and were actually able to build a snowman!!
Here are some pictures from yesterday, I apologize in advance for the longevity of this post, but this may be the only personal photo post of 2011…Maybe I should make that one of my resolutions, to share more personal photos…hm…
This first picture was taken with my cell phone, this is the bread aisle at Walmart the day the snow was expected to come in. This is how us Alabamians deal with snow!!

2010 was a fantastic year…I had many new clients, and many returning clients. There were a few firsts for Jennifer Weddington Photography in 2010 including a wedding and a birth. I loved them both and look forward to many more weddings & births in 2011, as well as my regular portraiture sessions. I am so happy to have had made so many friendships this year. Each & every one of my clients is special to me, and I’m happy to call you all friends!
I simply can not post all of my favorite images from 2010 in one blog post, so here is just a sampling of some of my favorite client images from 2010.

Thanks again to all of my wonderful clients, you guys MADE 2010 for me!!!! Looking forward to what’s in store for 2011…

This was a smorgasbord session…a “fall” session with the little bit of leaves we have left, a Christmas session, and since this little guy just turned 1, we had to have some cake too

This cutie is only a week old & I’ve already photographed him twice. The first time he was mere seconds old…he is the one who’s birth I photographed last week. He was just a dream for his newborn session…can’t to wait to see him grow!

Even at the young age of six weeks old, Miss Harper already LOVES playing dress up!!! We changed her outfits quite a few times during her session & she was not bothered by it one bit, she was a trooper!!! But then again, what girl doesn’t like pretty dresses, fluffy pink skirts & CUTE hats!!!

I am so lucky to have made some wonderful friendships with other local photographers…this being one of them. This is the fabulous Heather Sherrill, of Create Portraiture, and her gorgeous family.
She took me to a new location which I LOVE…you may have to kick me off your turf Heather! We had a great, fun session that ended with a little guitar picking!
Enjoy your sneak peek guys…

Last week I had one of my photography dreams come true…I photographed a birth!!!! This is something I have been wanting to do for a while now, but the last 2 I had scheduled ended up as c-sections, but looks like 3rd time is the charm!
I am so honored that these parents let me a part of such a personal, wonderful, unforgettable moment in their lives. I hope these pictures help capture the emotion that was in that room.
Here are a few pictures, along with a slideshow.

If you are interested in birth photography, or have any questions about birth photography, please give me a call or send me an email. I’m looking forward to my next birth!

Any photographers reading this can attest for the fact that we will go to just about ANY lengths to get a child to smile for us, sometimes our tricks work, sometimes they don’t…this was one case where they didn’t work! Little Miss Abby was a tough one, I did my usual singing, dancing, balancing things on my head…yeah, she wasn’t impressed. I ended up with one little half smile. Smiles or not, She was the CUTEST girl with beautiful curls & gorgeous blue eyes!
